Geothermal PDF Print
Geothermal works in wonderful ways. It does not use any form of gas ( IE propane, natural gas, oil). It does require electricity but much less than a normal electric furnace.

Cooling Mode

In simple terms the geothermal furnace works just like your fridge at home. Geothermal furnaces in air conditioning does not cool your house down. It simply removes the heat out. By removing the heat the air temperature gets cooler. In this mode it is called heat of rejection. In a geothermal ground loop is takes the heat of rejection and disperses it in the ground, just like that fridge does ( remember that hot coil on the back, it's the same as the geothermal ground loop but smaller).

Heating Mode

The heating mode is just reversed of the cooling mode. The geothermal furnace takes the heat from the ground. This process is called heat of extraction. The heat of extraction is when heat is removed from the ground. This heat is then brought inside to our geothermal furnace which then translates it to heat, to heat the house.
